Waynesboro Players announces auditions for the Shenandoah Valley Premiere of I’ll Be Home For Christmas, a new comedy by Catherine Bush, playwright in residence at The Barter Theatre. The play follows 5 intrepid travelers and a gate agent who all want to get home for Christmas while trying to maintain the Holiday Spirit. As the night wears on, the evening becomes more precarious, and their communication more revelatory.

Actors of any age, race, and ethnicity are welcome. Please see descriptions for details.

Actor 1 portrays female characters:
Cheryl: mid 30s-mid 40s, gate agent
Sid Zadnicheck: mid 30s-mid 40s, Army Sergeant

Actor 2 portrays female characters:
Mary Margaret Gilmore: late 20s-early 30s, several months pregnant
Rosie Armellino: mid-60’s, Italian mother

Actor 3 portrays male characters:
Joel Hartman: 30s, plumber, Jewish
Randall King: 35, pharmaceutical rep, champion turkey caller

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 26 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Waynesboro Players Warehouse, and Wednesday, August 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm at BRCC Fine Arts Black Box. If needed, call backs will be scheduled. Actors will read from the script for auditions. Scenes will be available to peruse 30 minutes before auditions begin.

A full company read through is scheduled for Monday, September 15 at 6:30pm, with rehearsals beginning Monday, September 21. Rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm.
