Players 2023-2024 Season Summary

Performances are at BRCC Fine Arts Center, Black Box Theatre, One College Lane, Weyers Cave (Building V across the street from the parking garage). 

Theatre and parking are handicapped accessible. 

For those who prefer not to use the steps, let the usher know, they will arrange front row seating.

Restrooms are on the first floor, signs are above the doors.

Evening performances – 7:30 PM, Sunday matinees – 3 PM – Doors open ½ hour before curtain.

Fall Play

“Over the River and Through the Woods”, comedy by Joe Dipietro, Director Danny Lee

Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from N.J.  Each Sunday he goes across the River for dinner with his Italian immigrant grandparents. When Nick shows up and announces that he’s been offered his dream job and will be relocating, the news doesn’t sit well. The grandparents begin a series of hilarious schemes to keep him in N.J.

Winter Play

“Wit”, drama by Margaret Edson, Director Emily Bump-Girard

Winner of numerous awards, including the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, “Wit” follows Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., a renowned scholar of the poetry of John Donne, as she lives out her final days in an unnamed hospital receiving experimental treatments for end-stage ovarian cancer. She reflects on her life’s work, her life’s choices and what it all boils down to in the end. Told with humor and intelligence, Vivian’s story will leave you feeling, as the New York Time’s describes: “enlightened and, in a strange way, enormously comforted.”

Spring Show

To Be Announced – comedy, Director Steve Winegard

Steve directed “Twelve Angry Jurors” for Players several seasons ago.  He has directed “Clue” and “Little Wars”, both at Oak Grove Theater and recently directed “The Foreigner” at Valley Playhouse, Harrisonburg.  He is a professional screen actor and is well known in this area for his stage work.  Steve is a proven director of both comedy and drama.  Whatever he directs will surely be a funny and fun filled play, stay tuned……
