Auditions for Working: A Musical – 2012 revision will be held on Thursday, February 16th at BRCC Fine Arts Building from 4:00-8:00pm, and on Friday, February 17 from 6-9pm and Saturday, February 18 from noon-5pm at the Waynesboro Players Warehouse. Actors will read selections from the script and will sing a short piece from the show. No prior preparation is needed.
Working: A Musical is based on the book by Studs Turkel, and was adapted by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Wicked) and Nina Faso with music by Schwartz, James Taylor, Craig Carnella, Mary Rodgers (Once Upon a Mattress), Susan Birkhead, Micki Grant (Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope), and Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton, EnCanto). It has been updated several times since its original publication in 1974, with the most recent update in 2011. Working highlights the life and jobs of blue collar workers from a variety of industries, and roles are specifically written to be multi-age and multi-cultural.
